How it's calculated
Days is the plain difference between the two dates: January 1 to January 2 is one day. Switch on “Count the end day” when you want both dates included, as in “how many days is my 10-day booking” or a payroll period. Weeks divide the days by seven. Months and years count whole calendar months and fractional years, so they track the calendar rather than assuming 30-day months.
Should I count the end day?
Count it when both days are "used": a hotel stay, a rental, a pay period, a medication course. Leave it off when you want the gap between two dates, such as days until an event.
How are months counted when the days don't line up?
A month is complete when the end day of the month is reached: January 31 to February 28 is 0 months, January 15 to February 15 is 1. The years figure includes the fraction, so 18 months shows as 1.5.
Does it count business days?
No, every day counts. A business-days calculator that skips weekends and holidays is on the list for a later release.
